The Project

Turned a two-week turnaround for a £20m town-centre housing bid into a confident, control-led narrative that won EQUANS the scheme outright.

Summary

EQUANS secured the £20 million scheme, differentiating itself by presenting a solution that was not only compliant, but decisive, credible and fully in control.

EQUANS was invited to bid for a £20 million housing development located on a sensitive site in the centre of Stockport.

The opportunity was significant, but the timeline created immediate pressure.

With only two weeks to develop and submit a full response, the risk was clear. Without a structured and focused approach, the bid could default to a rushed, compliance led submission that failed to fully address the complexity of the site or stand out in a competitive process.

Vision TDM was brought in to support the bid.

The priority was to establish clarity and direction from the outset.

We rapidly established a clear bid strategy, prioritising the issues that mattered most to the client: delivering safely within a constrained town centre environment, managing stakeholders, and maintaining programme certainty despite site sensitivities.

A key decision was how the project was positioned.

Rather than presenting constraints as risks to be mitigated, the submission framed them as conditions EQUANS was fully equipped to manage. The narrative shifted from “this is complex” to “this is controlled”, creating a fundamentally stronger message.

We ensured that every part of the submission reinforced that position. Construction methodology, logistics, stakeholder engagement and programme were tightly aligned, giving a clear and consistent picture of how the scheme would be delivered without disruption.

Every section was purposeful, contributing directly to the strength of the submission.

Despite the compressed timeline, the bid was structured, targeted and commercially aware. It demonstrated not just capability, but confidence and clarity under pressure.

The result was a focused, high-impact submission that stood out in a competitive process.
