NHS Shared Business Services Framework

Clinical room with wall-mounted medical equipment showing live hospital environment during construction works

The Project

Defended D&G Builders' long-standing NHS relationship by reframing delivery around off-site methods, patient safety and active risk reduction in live hospitals.

Summary

The bid successfully supported the retention of their position, strengthening their relationship with the NHS and securing continued access to work across the region.

D&G Builders was bidding for an NHS SBS framework, with a clear objective: retain and strengthen its working relationship with the NHS in the North West of England.

The stakes were high.

This was not just about winning new work. It was about protecting an existing position in a highly competitive and scrutinised environment, where failure would mean losing long standing access to NHS opportunities.

The risk was in how the bid would be perceived.

Many submissions in healthcare default to standard messaging around quality and compliance. The client needed confidence that works could be delivered safely in a live hospital environment, with minimal disruption to patients, staff and carers.

Vision TDM reframed the submission to focus on what mattered most in this environment: control, sensitivity and real world delivery in live clinical settings.

A key decision was how the delivery approach was framed.

Rather than presenting construction as a site based activity to be managed, the bid emphasised the use of prefabrication and off site methods to reduce time on site, minimise disruption and improve safety. This created a clear and practical link between methodology and patient experience.

The narrative shifted from “we can deliver safely” to “we actively reduce risk and impact.” We ensured this approach was embedded throughout the submission.

Methodology, programme and stakeholder management were aligned to demonstrate a consistent, patient-focused delivery model tailored to live hospital environments.

This gave evaluators a clear basis for differentiating D&G Builders from competing bidders.

The result was a strong, focused submission that reinforced D&G Builders’ value as a trusted NHS partner.

The bid successfully supported the retention of their position, strengthening their relationship with the NHS and securing continued access to work across the region.
